Ovulation Problems Detectable by Ultrasound

Problems found on ultrasound regarding ovulation:

  • Ovarian Follicles that do not grow
  • Ovarian Follicles that do not grow big enough
  • Ovarian Follicles that do not rupture at the right time

Ultrasound assessment (usually transvaginal ultrasound) is usually done starting on the 11th day of the cycle (first day of the menstural period is day one) and can be a daily event to track the follicle. The patient is usually asked to empty her bladder before the scan.
